Hot Flashes

The hot flash is the phenomenon which most often prompts a woman to consult a doctor. It is associated with changes in skin temperature, and can be accompanied by bouts of anxiety and insomnia. Around 75% of women experience some degree of hot flashes which can take place for up to two years. However, for 25% of women, the occurrence of flashes can last for five years or longer. Feeling sensitive to the cold may also be due to disturbance to your physiologic thermostat. However, this symptom is not frequently reported and is usually less of a discomfort.

Other symptoms that accompany hot flashes may include:

  • Nausea
