I have now been working with Dr. Beninger for four years and have had many opportunities to see his excellent work first hand. This is why when I contemplated corrective surgery, I felt comfortable approaching him about it.
I always had a very small chin, and even though not overweight, I had fat deposit under my chin. This created a double-chin effect when I lowered my head, and it always annoyed me. Dr. Beninger evaluated the problem and suggested a chin implant and submental liposuction to resolve my concerns. He explained the risks involved, and I agreed to proceed with surgery.
The discomfort level following surgery was minimal. I didn't even have to take the pain medication he prescribed for me. I was slightly bruised and swollen, but it quickly dissipated in a matter of 5 days. Actually, the day Dr. Beninger removed my sutures (day 5 after surgery) was the day Beresford hosted a cocktail party for media and friends, and I felt confident enough to literally show my face to the world. Friends and family have since then commented on the improvement it made to my profile, and I have been very pleased with the results.
My recovery was uneventful. It took about three months for the feeling to completely return to the area treated, which is what Dr. Beninger had explained during our initial consultation. It has now been three years since the surgery, and I am left with a very fine scar (entirely unnoticeable unless searched for) and a well-balanced profile.
I highly recommend this procedure, and Dr. Beninger, to anyone suffering from the same problem. It's an easy fix, and the downtime is minimal.
